Life since 1969: As
the Grateful Dead said: What a long strange trip it’s been. I graduated
from Memphis State in ’73 and joined the Memphis Police Department.
That helped me get divorced pretty quickly, as if I needed help. I
retired from the MPD in ’06 and moved to the Smoky Mountains with the
woman who puts up with me, Judy. We’ve been married 25 years, and we’re
living happily ever after.
I fish, hike and camp in the natural wonders of east Tennessee. In
August I hiked up Mt. Le Conte in the Great Smoky Mountains National
Park and spent the night in the lodge with my 34-year-old son. I’m also
blessed with a stepson and four grandbrats.
I read a lot, and I write fiction and very bad poetry. I relax
barbecuing in the back yard, listening to Jimmy Buffett – chilling and
grilling.
It’s good to be alive.
Nice site, David Garrett. Well done.
